We had fun with our new friends Beth and her daughter Elsie and Sue and her son Ty (there are a lot of "ands" in that sentence). We had a "play date" which was more like a lay date...that's pretty much all they can do at this point. It was fun just to watch them squirm around and look at each other every now and then.

Love at first sight :-)

Good job Elsie!

Tummytime anyone?
Bryanna had her second physical therapy appointment. The PT says she is doing good...she doesn't really have the torticollis anymore but we have to have at least one more appointment to make sure she is meeting her milestones without the torticollis affecting it (the PT doesn't think it will because she is developmentally right on schedule and even stated that Bryanna's ability to grasp things is well above average).

Yesterday I noticed her turning herself on her side from the back position. You can tell she is trying to roll over onto her tummy but her arm is getting in the way. She also tucks her knees up when she is on her tummy.

Be prepared for your ears to hurt

getting ready to roll over!
We had a great weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Neal. We went to Bishops Orchards and picked out Bryanna's first pumpkin! While we were there we went apple picking and picked some apples for Grandma to make a pie (Scott's favorite apple pie...it was so good...thanks Mom!) They could tell how much bigger Bryanna is...she is just growing so fast. They had some good conversations with her...she pretty much talks the whole time she is awake. Her cooing changes all the time, this weekend was razzing and aahhhh aahhhh aahhh's...and a bunch of squealing!

Ok, so we were wrong about Bryanna doing better...actually, she was better for a couple of days but she is back to her old self. She's still pushing the bottle away and crying during feedings, arching her back, coughing a lot, and spitting up a ton. I feel like every thing we try is making her worse. With acid reflux there isn't one set cure, you just have to find out what works for your own baby. We just gave her her first dose of Prevacid today, so I really hope that works for her. I hate to see her so uncomfortable.

Yesterday we had a nice little set-up in our back yard. I laid a blanket down under the tree and Bryanna and I just laid there looking up at it. She really loves looking at the trees...I think we were out there for an hour and a half. You couldn't ask for a better day...sun, slight breeze, and my little girl right by my side.

So, Bryanna is doing better with the rice cereal. She doesn't push the bottle out as much or cry during feedings.

We went to My Gym today with our new friends, Beth and her baby Elsie. Bryanna got to use the swing for the first time and we danced to songs and did some exercises.

We had a nice weekend with Dave and Kelly...and had some really nice weather. Bryanna is much bigger than when they saw her last. She's 24.25 inches long and weights 14 lbs! Yesterday, we went over to Silver Sands Park and had a picnic...it was Bryanna's first picnic! From there, we walked to the beach and tried trekking it to Charles Island. Of course we didn't make it and the tide came in too early...maybe the 3rd time is the charm?! ;-)

We called the doc. office on Saturday because the medicine isn't working for her acid reflux. He advised us to add some Beechnut rice cereal to her formula to thicken it up because the Nutramigen is pretty thin. It has seemed to be working so far...cross your fingers!

Sportin' Grandpa's hat

Touching grass for the first time

She loves her Octopus...she was stuffing
it in her face and making funny noises

Heading out to the island
Wow! Bryanna is 3 months old today! Time is flying by way too fast!

By the way, Scott, Bryanna and I are doing the Memory walk for Alzheimers on October 3rd. If anyone wants to make a donation you can Follow This Link
So, we are having the same problem as we were having before with Bryanna's feedings. She pushes it away and cries after eating some and it's a fight to feed her - this happens about 85% of the time. The doctor diagnosed her with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)...just a fancy name for acid reflux and infants usually grow out of it by the time they are 1 yr. old. Now we are on Axid, which she has to take 2 times a day and the doc. wants us to continue with Nutramigen. One good thing is that our insurance will cover the Nutramigen, so that will help out a lot since that stuff is so expensive! We had to buy the Doctor Brown's bottles...they have the standard neck size and actually fit her mouth better.

Bryanna is doing really good with tummy time. She has pretty good head control. She can lift her head 90 degrees when on her belly and keeps her head level when you pull her up by her arms. She has started razzing which is pretty entertaining but I'm constantly wiping her face from all the drool! She can also bear some weight on her legs when holding her up.

The doctor diagnosed her with Torticollis...he thinks it might of happened from the vacuum that was used when she was delivered. It is basically where one side of your neck muscles is shorter than the other and you need to stretch the short side out. We are going to physical therapy every other week and I'm also doing it at home with her every day. I am seeing definite improvement...she is actually favoring the opposite side but it is probably because she can tilt it that way now.

She's such a smiley baby...Alfalfa?
Caught her sleeping like this...must have been too bright in the room!

She is losing her hair on both sides...it's going to look so funny once it all falls out!

She has learned how to grab and pull the ring to make it play music.

Well, I'm still battling this cold....longest cold ever! I've learned that when you have a little one to take care of, it's kind of hard to take care of yourself!

We had a great Labor Day weekend. Grandma Wetzel and Rick rented a lodge in Webster Park on Saturday. So many family members showed up...it was so nice seeing everyone and we are glad they got to meet Bryanna!

Grandma and Grandpa Neal had a gathering at their house where the Neal side of the family got to meet Bryanna. We had a great time and I'm glad they got to see Bryanna...the first grandbaby on that side of the family!

Here are some pics from the weekend. I didn't get a chance to take that many so I stole some from Michelle...thanks!

The Dolphins won today...woo woo!
We had a great Labor day weekend. Pictures and info. to come later...Mommy is sick with a cold and just feel like resting...I hope I don't give it to Bryanna!

Can always find the energy to take pictures of my beautiful baby girl!

Sucking her thumb a lot today
